Review | Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about the march edition of Birchbox that I won from a giveaway, (if you haven’t read it you can here), and said that I would be reviewing some of the products in the future. Here is my first one!

I love eyeliner. I really really really love it. I feel so strange if I’m not wearing eyeliner or dark eyeshadow on my eyes, it makes my eyes look really small! When I saw that there was a gel liner by Laura Geller in the Birchbox, I was so happy. I have a couple of items already by Laura Geller and I really like them. The powders, blushers and bronzers are so pigmented and last such a long time; definitely some of the best I’ve used so far!

The liner is black, thank god. I’d seen the liner in brown and a dark purple too, and unfortunately I don’t think either of these colours would have suited me so I’m so grateful to have received it in black. In the past I’d found that I don’t work too well with gel liners. They usually take ages to apply and are quite thick and hard, which makes the application even harder. I was pleasantly suprised with this liner, as the formula was smooth so even though it took a few strokes to build up the colour, it went on pretty easily. The brush very cleverly fits into the pot, which helps to keep it clean and safe as well. It might take me a bit of getting used to, as I’m used to sweeping some liquid liner on, but I’m quite sure that this gel liner will soon become another firm favourite from Laura Geller.

Below you can see a picture of the first time I wore the eyeliner. I know it doesn’t look amaazing but you can see how pigmented it is, and with more practice I’m sure it will look better. Also, I do apologise for the awful over exposure, apparently taking pictures in front of my window isn’t a brilliant idea.

Have any of you tried the eyeliner? What do you think? 🙂 Thank you for reading!

I'm completely obsessed with gel eyeliner but have never seen this one. Definitely going to have to try and hunt one down because it sounds lovely.
