Christmas Wishlist

For the past few years, I haven't really wanted anything in particular for Christmas, as my birthday is only a couple of months before. So usually, I just love a few surprises on Christmas morning. Recently however, I've been trying to save some money meaning I haven't been treating myself to much, but the list of things I want is still as long as my arm! So instead of boring you all with every item, this post shows my top six.

Knitted Crystal Stud Jumper - Topshop - £42

How cute is this jumper? Embellished collars are really 'in' at the moment, along with the pastel green. I think this jumper would look great with a pair of black skinnies, heeled ankle boots and a leather jacket.

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Perfume

I asked my parents to buy me this perfume from Duty Free on their way home from their holiday this summer, and already I've already nearly used it all! I'm trying to use it sparingly, but as I really love it's becoming more difficult. So, it's a must have on my Christmas wishlist; it's my favourite perfume!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10

Again, this would be another repurchase for me of sorts. I was so glad when MAC finally released a paler shade of foundation, and I've come to the end of my latest bottle. With it being the best foundation I've used, it had to be on the list.

Quilted Long Purse - Warehouse - £18

My purse has started to look a little worse for wear recently, so I've been on the lookout for a new one. This one looks perfect; it's a little smaller than the one I have currently been using, which is a good thing as it might stop me from carting around all sorts of old receipts and loose change!

Enrapture Totem Styler

This is a product that has been raved about all over blogs, and I would love to try it out! Recently I've been loving curling my hair, so this would be a perfect addition to my hair tools, especially after seeing how lovely people's hair looks after using it!

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewel Mask

This was on my wishlist a couple of months ago, but I never actually got around to buying it, so it is definitely going on on my Christmas wishlist. It's another product I've read so much about, and I would love to see if it would make a difference to my skin.

Are any of these products on your wishlist? Leave a comment with your links to any wishlist posts too!

Christmas At Housing Units

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year! I love the music, the food and the decorations, and so every year I head to local furniture specialists Housing Units to go and browse their Christmas section. They sell all sorts of Christmas decorations, from tinsel, to ornaments, to artificial trees to dancing Christmas toys. Among all the stock, they also have a few displays so it's a really lovely trip every time I go. Today I dragged my boyfriend with me, who isn't as big a fan of Christmas as I am, but he always humours me at this time of year by coming along with me to look at places like this.

While at Housing Units, I obviously had to buy some form of Christmas decoration so I bought a lovely reindeer tea light holder, and a few Yankee Candle samplers and tarts, including one from the new Christmas range! If you're from the North West I would definitely recommend a trip to Housing Units. Although I just visited the Christmas section, they sell many different products that would be perfect for gifts for Christmas, and also furniture for all round the house. You can see their website here.

Have any of you been to Housing Units before? What do you think?

Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub and Smoothie Star

Soap & Glory is one of those brands that you hear a lot about, but for all the right reasons, and I can definitely see why. From their gorgeous smelling shampoos to their moisturising hand creams, there is definitely something for everybody. A couple of weeks ago I picked up the Breakfast Scrub and the Smoothie Star when Soap & Glory was on a "buy one get one half price" promotion in Boots, and I am so glad that I did.

The Breakfast Scrub has a maple fragrance, making it smell absolutely delicious. With oats, shea butter and sugar, it is the perfect body scrub. The scrub is an amazing partner for the Smoothie Star, which has almond, cocoa, yogurt, oat and honey creating yet another lovely scent. The Smoothie Star is like a milky lotion and absorbs into the skin right away leaving it feeling soft and supple.

Both products have definitely made a difference to my shower routine, and I would definitely recommend them. Boots usually have a lot of offers on, so keep your eye out!

The Christmas Tag

Today I decided that it was definitely not too early to be playing Christmas songs, so I stuck on a Christmas album and danced around while doing a couple of jobs around the house. When I finally calmed down and had finished my renditions of Last Christmas and Fairytale of New York, I read a couple of blogs and went to one my favourites, Hello Ella. When I saw the Christmas Tag, I knew I had to do it, so here it is!

What time of the year do you start your Christmas shopping?
I always say 'I'll start earlier next year!" as I usually end up spending all of my money in one go, but typically I start shopping in late November/early December. Christmas shopping is one of my favourite things; I love walking around shopping centres with all the decorations up, then grabbing a hot drink afterwards.

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?
I'm not much of a chef, but my mum always makes Limoncello (an Italian lemon liqueur), Baileys and a Christmas cake for our family members, so I try to help her with that. I have to give her 10/10 for effort with the cakes though. She puts so much time into it, and I wish I liked fruit cake just so I could eat and appreciate it!

Tell me how Christmas goes down in your home.
When we've woke up, we head downstairs where my mum is already preparing the Christmas dinner. After opening presents around the tree and making notes of who bought who what for thank you phonecalls, we usually watch a film together and I sort through my presents and tidy them away. At around 2pm, my grandparents come round and we have the much awaited Christmas dinner. After a few drinks, a family chat that usually means reminiscing on embarrassing times, my grandparents head home. Me, my mum, dad and sister then watch the Doctor Who Christmas special, and I gorge on nuts, Pringles, cakes, Quality Street and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on.

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
We always buy a real Christmas tree, which is pain when we have to clear it away at the end of December, but it's nice in the meantime. We also head to the Christmas markets in Manchester and get a pork muffin with apple sauce. Seriously, if you ever go to those markets, get one of the muffins! They're delicious. When we decorate the house my dad usually puts on the Christmas album we've had forever with all the classics on and we sing along to that. The youngest one of out of us all is 18 next year, but we're still treated like kids and at Christmas, I don't mind too much! A tradition I have myself is that I always have a Christmas movie night, where I watch the classics like The Grinch, The Polar Express and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I also visit the Christmas markets with my boyfriend, along with having little Christmas themed days out.

Do you have a favourite festive coffee?
I'm not too adventurous when it comes to specialty coffees, an Eggnog latte doesn't really appeal to me, but I love Caramel Macchiatos. Though, I do want to try the Gingerbread Latte or the Toffee Nut Latte from Starbucks though!

What's your favourite Christmas song?
Such a hard question! There's too many to choose from, but I do love Driving Home For Christmas.

What do you do on Christmas Eve?
On Christmas Eve my boyfriend picks me up from work, and spends a bit of time with me at my house as I don’t see him on Christmas day. After he’s gone I have a nice bath, get into a new pair of pajamas and watch a Christmas film tucked up in bed.

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy? Do you have a strategy?
I don't really have a strategy. I try my hardest and hope that I don't have to wrap sellotape around the whole present to hold the paper together.

What's your dream gift this year?
I would really love a car with the insurance paid off, that would be amazing. It won't happen, but the question was your dream gift.

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?
The tree is usually really tall and real, and decorated by my mum who doesn't let any of us mess it up! Usually with tinsel, fairy lights and baubles that are all colour coordinated.

Do you decorate just the tree or other areas of your house e.g. windows, banisters?
We decorate windows, a couple of shelves/ledges around the house and sometimes the porch. My dad is a big kid really, so we like to go all out at Christmas. The difference between the living room my mum decorates and the one my dad does is hilarious. Let’s just say my mum has better taste when it comes to Christmas decorations.

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day?
At Christmas parties and on Christmas day, I tend to wear a dress. Even though I don't really leave the house on Christmas day, I still like to dress up and do my hair and make up. After my family go home, I change back into my comfy pj's.

So this tag probably makes me and my family sound like something out of a cheesy Christmas film, but Christmas is my favourite time of year and I absolutely love it! You can read Ella's tag here. Let me know if you do it too, I love reading things like this. Keep your eye out for more Christmas themed posts, they'll be up soon!
