My first TBR of 2017 – how exciting! I’ve got quite a lot of deadlines coming up at university over the next few months (booo), but I don’t want to lose momentum with my reading, so I’m attempting to read the following this month.
So, the first book on my TBR for 2017. I recently ran a poll on Twitter recently asking everybody which book I should read next, and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern won! I’ve seen this book a lot on Booktube, so I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be great.
“The circus arrives with no warning, one day it was not there, and the next it was. As the sun goes down, the tent begins to glow and the sign appears: The Circus of Dreams.” Oooooh, how good does that sound!?
Keeping true to my reading goals this year, which you can read about in my bookish resolutions post, I’m planning on reading one non fiction book this month: Radical Self Love by Gala Darling. I want to spend 2017 working on me, bettering myself, learning to love myself and just being happy, so with Radical Self Love described as “a guide to loving yourself and living your dreams” I know that reading this will be the perfect way to kick start the year. Also, it’s a bloody beautiful book too!
The final book I’m hoping to read this month is My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. I read Horrorstor by Hendrix a few months ago and really enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to reading this. I don’t know much about this book except it’s set in the 80’s (already love it) and is a tale of two friends, where one starts to believe the other is possessed by a demon and tries to save her. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but more good than bad, so if it’s anything like Horrorstor I’m sure I’ll love it.
I also took advantage of some of the Kindle deals on Amazon and bought quite a few books for 99p, so I’m sure I’ll end up reading one of them this month! I got: It Ends With Us and Confess by Colleen Hoover, A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab and An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I’ve heard great things about them all so I hope to get around to them soon!
I hope I’m not being too ambitious with my TBR this month, but whatever happens, I definitely thinking I’m starting my 2017 reading year with a bang!

I really want to read more in the new year, I'm trying to create a list of books I want to start and finish by this year, I'm aiming for 12 books in 12 months which I think should be doable, I just need some bookspiration and this has definitely helped!

I'm glad to have given you some inspiration Heather 🙂 I think a book a month is definitely a good plan. I need to write a list too! I have so many unread books, I need to make a plan of what I want to read, stick to it and not buy any more books (I bought 5 Kindle books last night… oops) xx
