Yesterday I wrote about my bookish resolutions, things that I want to do frequently to better my 2018 in terms of books. Today, I’m writing about my goals: all of the bookish things that I want to achieve before the year is out. Keep reading to find out all of my goals (and let’s hope that they aren’t too optimistic)!
1. Read 75 books and beat my Goodreads challenge for both 2016 and 2017
While setting a goal isn’t for everyone and that’s totally ok, I love to have something to work towards and seeing myself creeping closer to reading the number of books I set out at the beginning of the year fills me with excitement. I spent the first half of this year at university and working a couple of days a week, so I definitely had some spare time to get stuck into a some books. In 2018, I’ll be working full time but I’m definitely going to commit some time to reading each day – check out my Bookish Resolutions for 2018 post for more on this!
2. Reach a new milestone on my social channels
Numbers aren’t everything, I know this, but I can’t deny that I love seeing the number of people who actually care about my posts enough to follow me creep higher, and I’m definitely going to start looking for lots of new bloggers to follow myself. Instagram and Twitter are the main places that I post my ramblings, but I might work a little harder on my Facebook page in the New Year.
3. Start (and finish) my first novel
One of my resolutions was to work on my first novel weekly and finally put all of my ideas onto paper. If I stick to this, and I really hope I do, I actually might finish my book by this time next year. This is one of my biggest goals and I’m really excited about this one!
4. Have a review included in a new release
I love seeing fellow blogger’s thoughts in the first few pages of a new release and it would be a huge honour to see my own words in one in 2018!
5. Continue to work with awesome authors, publishers and companies
I kind of wasn’t sure whether to post this one as I would hate to sound like I’m bragging, but I’m not, I’m just super proud of all my hard work! This year has definitely been my best in terms of who I’ve worked with on my blog. I have very gratefully received some incredible books through which I’ve met some fab people within the industry and I’m ending the year working with Costa Coffee on the Costa Book Awards which is just amazing! I would love for this to continue throughout 2018 and I can’t wait to see what kind of content I’ll keep on creating next year!
I also want to say a huge thank you to those of you who have stuck around and read my posts, chatted to me on Twitter and indulged me in my ramblings on Instagram. It means more than you know and I can’t wait to see where 2018 is going to take me and amyjanealice. Happy New Year all!
