Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you’re all having an awesome week. I’m so looking forward to only having a four day working week and then a long weekend for the Bank Holiday! Over the weekend I am taking part in Kate’s Easter Readathon. Check out my last post for a wrap up of the rules and what I’m planning on reading!
Today I’m back with another tag. I’m really enjoying doing these right now and it’s so cool to see the tags making their way round the book blog community as more and more people tag each other. The original post of this tag was by Catalyst Reads but this channel seems to no longer exist! I saw Emily Fox’s video which inspired me to take part.

Which trope (or tropes) in books annoy you the most?
One thing that always sticks out to me in books is where the main character is the “chosen one”, and having come from a relatively normal background which included no combat or political training, suddenly becomes an unbeatable fighter and rebel mastermind with absolutely no fear whatsoever and immediate success. Surely there has to be some training involved?
Which writer or writers do you feel are overrated/overhyped?
Honestly I’m really not a huge fan of John Green. That’s not to say I think he’s a terrible author, it’s just I’ve read a couple of his books and just never really understood why everybody loves him.
What are your least favourite books you’ve read since joining BookTube?
Ok so since I got this from a YouTube video I’m going to amend this to Book Twitter! After by Anna Todd seems to have divided the book blogging world. I finished the book and personally would have given it zero stars if that was possible. A book about an abusive relationship filled with so many problematic scenarios and it requires certain trigger warnings too. I actually couldn’t believe what I was reading?
A terrible ending that ruined an otherwise quality book?
I uhmmed and aahed over this question for the longest time! I genuinely couldn’t think of a book for this so I’ve chosen one where I thought the ending kind of took something away from the story, but it wasn’t exactly terrible. And that book is Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus. I did really enjoy this story but feel like it wrapped up rather quickly after taking a while to develop in the first three quarters.
Which fictional character(s) do you wish were not killed off?
As always I just have to bring it back to SJM at some point huh? Anyway spoilers for Kingdom of Ash if you haven’t read it… Gavriel! He was just at the beginning of developing a relationship with his son Aedion and they deserved better and more time together.
What are some of your bookish pet peeves?
Book snobbery. I hate it when some readers think themselves better or more established for reading certain books. Reading is reading no matter what genre or author! In terms of actual books I’m not a huge fan of deckled edges. I remember getting my first book with them and thinking it was damaged!
What are some books you feel should have more recognition?
The Air Awakens series by Elise Kova. I read the first few books in this series a couple of years ago and absolutely fell in love with them. These books are definitely due a re-read!
Thank you for stopping by for another tag, and if you’re reading this then you should definitely take part yourself!
Nice tag. Thanks for sharing. The Air Awakens series has been on my radar for a year. I must get around to it.
I love this tag and your answers! I’m intrigued about Two Can Keep a Secret, I am taking it on my holiday with me very soon!
Ooh I love this tag!
The Air Awakens has been on my TBR for ages.
I hate book snobbery too, although I used to be so guilty of it when I was younger.

Definitely doing this tag soon! 10/10 agree on John Green, I just cannot get into his books.
This is so much fun and I loved this tag!
Lovely tag! I’d love to get to The Air Awakens but I’ve only found it for very expensive so far so I’m gonna wait for my moment to get the book.
im v excited to read the air awakens books, andkinda annoyed at myself that i havent!!
alos yes the chosen one trope can be done so badly ;;
I love this tag! Definitely agree with a lot of your answers too – I do always say I get annoyed with chosen one tropes but then still end up reading them all ?
I’ve heard a lot of other people say similar things about Two Can Keep a Secret too!
I always love reading this tag! I agree with you on book snobbery. It is something I see so often, and it makes me so mad. Like you said, “reading is reading!” Also, I’m not a fan of deckled pages as well. It makes it less satisfying to flip through the pages of the book.
