So I’m back with another tag! As you may have read in my recent post The Unpopular Opinions Book Tag, I want to take part in more tags on my blog so you’ll be seeing more content like this going forwards.
Today I’m taking part in the Rapid Fire tag by GirlReading. This probably works better in video format and my answers will probably be a little more in depth here but I’ll try my best!

1.E-Book or Physical Book?
This is hard! I do love e-books and the convenience of using my Kindle or phone but I’d have to choose physical books.
2. Paperback or Hardback?
Hardbacks look nicer but paperbacks are easier to read. Although the spine on a paperback is more at risk than a hardback. Hm…
3. Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
Online for sure. I like to check out reviews and do some browsing and sometimes being there in person can be a little overwhelming with all of the choice. I do love strolling round a bookstore though.
4. Trilogies or Series?
If I’m loving the books then definitely a series (give me all of the books!) but if they’re kind of meh then I’d prefer a trilogy as sometimes I feel obligated to finish them!
5. Heroes or Villains?
Who doesn’t love a morally ambiguous and attractive villain?
6. A book you want everyone to read?
Obvious answer = A Court of Thorns and Roses. My most recent top rated read = Muse of Nightmares!
7. Recommend an underrated book?
The Deal by Elle Kennedy.
8. The last book you finished?
Romanov by Nadine Brandes.
9. The Last Book You Bought?
The paperback edition of Strange the Dreamer.
10. Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
Probably a receipt or note, but the thing that I most remember was a picture of my cat Pepper!
11. Used Books: Yes or No?
If they’re in good condition then yes.
12. Top Three Favourite Genres?
Fantasy, fantasy and fantasy?
13. Borrow or Buy?
Mostly buy.
14. Characters or Plot?
Ooooo they’re both kind of dependent on one another. Like you can’t have a good plot without good characters and you can’t have decent characters if they have no plot?
15. Long or Short Books?
I love a long book if I’m invested in the story. Otherwise I enjoy 300 – 400 pages.
16. Long or Short Chapters?
Definitely short!
17. Name The First Three Books You Think Of…
ACOTAR as I’ve already mentioned it and my SJM fangirl shelves are looming behind me, The Bone Season and Caraval (I’m sat next to my bookcases!)
18. Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?
Wow I’m so predictable…. we all know SJM books make my cry and laugh but aside from those the I Heart books by Lindsey Kelk are hilarious and Leigh Bardugo’s books are always there to tug on my heartstrings.
19. Our World or Fictional Worlds?
I’d love to choose fictional words but that totally depends on where. I don’t think I’d have much of a chance somewhere like Mordor if I’m honest.
20. Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Abso-frickin-lutely!
21. Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
Sometimes (sorry)!
22. Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
I feel like in book to TV there is more scope to develop the story due to the number of episodes/time, but movies tend to have bigger budgets resulting in better effects and production etc. I can’t choose!
23. A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
I think this question was in the last tag so I’ll give the same answer, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before! Though I read Beth’s post recently and I agree with her answer, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were books I really struggled to read when I was younger but I bloody love the films.
24. Series or Standalone’s?
Definitely series.
And there we have the Rapid Fire book tag! I tag Kate, Vicky and Sarah – and you if you’re reading this!
This is such a fun tag to do!
I love that so many of your answers are SJM related ?
I am on online book shopper as well. Of course I love touching, and smelling ; ), the books in store, but it is usually easier and cheaper for me to buy online. Like you said, you can look at reviews and browse easier. I loved this tag! I will have to add it to my list of tags I want to do on my blog.
Everyone judges a book by its cover for sure! Great post!
Yeah I feel like you need both a good plot and characters. I always judge a book cover ? Thank you for tagging me!!
ilove that youre apologising for sometimes judging books by covers and i do it ALWAYS.
I love how you only picked fantasy for your favourite genres! 😀 Also don’t apologise for juding books by their covers, we all do that!
Great answers! I love online shopping too, but do love strolling around bookshops a lot 😊
