“Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.”
I came across the Top Ten Tuesday posts over on my lovely friend Kate’s blog, and after reading her latest post in particular (which is fab by the way and you should totally check it out) I decided that I would finally join in myself! I’m hoping this will become a very regular piece on amyjanealice so keep an eye out for future posts.
Today’s prompt: Rainy Day Reads!

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – Let’s get the obvious out of the way, huh? I actually read ACOTAR for the first time on a Sunday afternoon/evening and was just swept away. The thought of reading this series tucked up with a hot drink whilst the rain taps against the window makes me so happy!
I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk – The I Heart series was one of the first I became fully enthralled with. Absolutely hilarious and engaging from the get go, this is the perfect series to snuggle up with on a rainy day.
Any book by Paige Toon – Paige Toon almost never fails to make my cry. If you’re looking for a bittersweet read which makes you feel like your mood is reflected in the weather, then one of these books is for you!
The Deal by Elle Kennedy – Another series that I fell head over heels for. I actually read these books at night (and the early mornings – I couldn’t put them down!) but think they’d be perfect to fly through on a drizzly afternoon.
Any Harry Potter book – Having grown up reading the Harry Potter series, there’s just something so nostalgic to me about them. I just love the idea of dipping in and out of the books while the rain pours down outside.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han – I feel that in some instances a rainy day read is synonymous with an easy read, which is where I got the idea for next two books from. TATBILB is such a cutesy and romantic read, I just had to include it.
Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame – Another easy read in terms of how quickly you can get through it, but definitely not easy when it comes to content, this series is swoon worthy.
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson – This book is like the epitome of Autumn, bundled up into paper. And what do we get a lot of in Autumn? Yep, rain.
The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James – Got some time to kill while it’s chucking it down outside? Pick up this book and the twists and turns will have the hours passed in no time.
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus – Another gripping read to fly through on those days you just can’t face going out in the bad weather.
And there we have it, my first ever Top Ten Tuesday post. I had so much fun with this and can’t wait for future posts!

This post just makes me want to curl up with a good book right now!
Love this tag and I definitely agree with your picks, especially An Enchantment of Ravens!
Yes to TATBILB and Loneliest Girl! Two of my favourites! Great post!
I’m so happy you’re joining in with TTT Amy and I loved reading this post! I would definitely cosy up with The Loneliest Girl or An Enchantment of Ravens on a rainy day, both just have those chilled/cold day vibes. Fab post!
I really want to pick up some Paige Toon soon! I absolutely flew through DIMLY too, but I rarely see anyone talk about it!
I agree, The Loneliest Girl is a perfect book to pick up on a rainy day. I flew through that book! I really want to read An Enchantment of Ravens. It looks like a story I would love.
