Last week I participated in Six for Sunday for the first time and shared the post “Books I Want to Read”. I had a lot of fun putting it together so I’m back for my second week! If you want to find out more about Six for Sunday or want to join in, then make sure to check out A Little But A Lot’s post.
This weeks prompt is the books we’re excited about for the rest of 2019. My TBR is ever growing so it’s going to be hard to just choose just six but here we go!

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
Back in 2017 I read Rogerson’s debut novel, An Enchantment of Ravens, which absolutely blew me away. Ever since I closed that book I’ve been counting down to the day I get to read another of her books. Sorcery of Thorns sounds just as beautifully atmospheric and features magical libraries – how could I not love the sound of this?
I’ve loved everything I’ve ever read by Leigh Bardugo and I’m already sure that this will be no different. Bardugo’s first foray into adult novels, Ninth House features an elite university, the occult and secret societies. I can’t wait to read it!
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
Ok so I’m kind of cheating with this one… I’m pretty sure it was published around a week ago. However, I haven’t read it yet and definitely plan on doing so this year when I’m on holiday so technically it is a book I’m excited for in 2019!
Queen of Ruin by Tracy Banghart
I read Grace and Fury last year after having received it in a Fairyloot box. I took it on holiday with me and devoured it in a day. I’m really looking forward to picking up the sequel, as the first ended on such am exciting note.
Another Fairyloot book and another holiday read! Looking back I realise that there were problematic aspects in this book, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the story develops and whether the sequel is more constructive.
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
I’m so excited that I am able to include this on my 2019 list of reads I’m excited for. If you hadn’t heard, the release date has been brought forward from January 2020 to 19th November this year! I need to know what happens after the shock ending of The Wicked King so I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book in the trilogy.
And there we have six of the many books that I’m excited for over the last months of 2019. Are any of these on your list? Have I missed your most anticipated read? I’d love to know!

I’m so excited for so many of these books! Great post!
I’ve not heard of any books on this list but I think that is because they are fantasy! I hope you enjoy all these books when you read them!
Yaaaas, I really want to read The Unhoneymooners too! It’s just so expensive on Amazon and isn’t in my local bookshops!
Right?! Why it is so expensive!
Oh no! These posts always make me add so many more books to my TBR. There are so many amazing books coming out this year. Sorcery of Thorns looks so good, and the cover is so beautiful. One I am really excited about is, I Wanna be Where you Are by Kristina Forest. I managed to get myself a copy of an ARC, and I will be starting it soon, I am so excited. I believe it comes out in June!
So many good books to read!!
