This weeks Six for Sunday topic is the books I want to be written, and wow is this a hard topic. There are so many! You can find out all about Six for Sunday on this post by A Little But A Lot. I’m having a lot of fun participating every week and I’m looking forward to the rest of this month’s prompts.
I’ve decided to go at this post with the angle of the kind of books I want to read more of, not specifically ‘exact books I want to read’. Also I know that there are a whole load of books I could read for each of the below, but like I said, they’re just the sorts of books I want to get my hands on more often!

Basically anything from SJM
I feel like this one is kind of a given? I would love to read more books in ACOTAR and Throne of Glass world from some of the other character’s perspectives which I believe we will be treated to in only a couple of years! I would particularly like to read the ACOTAR series from Rhysand’s perspective too.
More books set in the Wizarding World
I have loved Harry Potter ever since I was young, and probably always will. I’ve read the books a few times now and while they never disappoint, I’d love to read other books set in the same world. Maybe about some of our favourite professors when they were younger, or about other wizarding schools?
New adult fantasy
Bet you couldn’t tell that this is one of my favourite genres huh? I know new adult isn’t really treated as a “proper” genre – I mean we see ACOTAR on shelves next to very young adult books when it really isn’t, but the new adult discussion is a topic for another day!
YA thrillers and mysteries
After reading books like One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson and Sadie by Courtney Summers and enjoying them (though saying I enjoyed them feels weird because of their content but you know what I mean!), I have become very interested in reading more books of this kind!
College/university romance
I love reading romances set in college or university but I hear next to nothing about them in the online book community! One of my favourites, that to be fair I have seen discussed online, is the Off Campus series and I thoroughly enjoyed it so this is definitely something I’d like to read more of.
Elemental magic
I know that there are a lot of books featuring elemental magic out there but I just enjoy them so much! Particularly elemental magic with a good angsty romance and plenty of action.
There we have the books I want to be written. If you have any faves that you think I would love after reading this then please do let me know in the comments!
I’d love more YA thrillers and mysteries! They are my favourite kinds of books. Great post!
Great ideas, I couldn’t think of anything for this topic! I agree with SJM books in the ACOTAR series! I’m interested to see the reviews for her new book!
I definitely need more SJM and adult fantasy books in my life!
A 1000x yes to SJM, I will never tire of her characters and worlds! I’m so excited to read more ACOTAR books!
I’d love more adult fantasy! And college themed books too. I love the Off Campus series which I know you’ve read 😊
I would love more college/university romance! I feel like it might be time for a re-read of Fangirl now that I’m actually in uni.
Oh yes. Definitely need ALL OF THESE to happen. Especially more wizarding world books!
Okay, so I friggin’ love this post idea! And I totally agree with all the books you want!
have u tried truthwitch by s dennard? her magic system seems to be somewhat elemental focused 🙂
I will stand behind you 100% on the New Adult Fantasy! It is a hill I am willing to die on!
This is a good spin on the prompt, I wish there were more romance books set in University, there’s definitely a huge gap in the market for this!
