You may have noticed that I’m loving a good old tag lately on here, and guess what, I’m back with another one. I can’t believe we’re six months into the year already and with so many good books read! I haven’t actually been tagged to do the Mid Year Freak Out but when I read it on Steph’s blog it looked like a lot of fun so I thought why not?

The Best Book You’ve Read This Year
Wow starting with the difficult ones huh? I can’t possible choose one so here’s a few memorable reads:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo, Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer, The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary, Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and…. so many more.
The Best Sequel You’ve Read This Year
Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor and The Wicked King by Holly Black.
New Releases You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon.
Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of the Year
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo.
Biggest Disappointment
The Rumour by Lesley Kara.
Biggest Surprise
Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – I don’t tend to be a huge fan of sci fi books!
Favourite New to You or Debut Author
New to me has to be Brigid Kemmerer with A Curse So Dark and Lonely. Favourite debut is a a very close tie between Holly Jackson with A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Beth O’Leary with The Flatshare and Casey McQuison with Red, White & Royal Blue for sure.
Newest Fictional Crush
I think any crushes I have from my reads this year aren’t that new! Julian and Dante from the Caraval series and Nikolai from the Grishaverse have been on the list for a while.
Newest Favourite Character
I really loved the dynamics between Harper, Rhen and Grey in A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. I also have a soft spot for Prince Henry from Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.
Book That Made You Cry
It’s not often I cry at books unless it’s SUPER emotional but Sadie by Courtney Summers definitely affected me.
Book That Made You Happy
Last Bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron, Red White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and Finale by Stephanie Garber.
Favourite Book to Film Adaptation
I don’t think I’ve actually seen one this year?!
Favourite Post You Have Done This Year
Having the opportunity to interview Samantha Shannon and write about it on here was amazing!
Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year
If we’re talking covers then King of Scars and Aurora Rising are definitely up there along with Finale!
What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of the Year
So many! Basically this entire post though I am starting Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson tonight.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed this tag! If you’re reading this, then I tag YOU.
Ooo Sadoe was a tough one, I listened to it and on audio I manage to keep a bit more distance thankfully!
I need to do this tag but you’re right. It’s so hard.
I love this tag so much! Great post!
I love this tag 🙂
I definitely need to bump Aurora Rising up my TBR, I’ve seen so many people say good things about it.

Yes! That first question was a tough one! Some great answers, Aurora Rising was one of my favorite reads too.
I need to get to Muse of Nightmares as well! I loved Strange the Dreamer so I’m sure I’d love that one too! Loved your answers!
Priory is a book I really need to get around to by the end of this year too!

I still need to read The Priory of the Orange Tree as well! I bought it back in February, when it came out, and have yet to start it. Maybe it is the size that is intimidating me haha! I am also so excited for Ninth House! It looks so good!
I loved your interview with Samantha, it was a great post! 🙂
