This is my first time taking part in Read. Sleep. Repeat.’s ARC August and I’m super excited, so today I’m sharing my TBR. The readathon basically goes as follows: read as many arcs as you can throughout the month of August. Pretty simple right? You can find out more on the host’s blog here. Alongside reading some awesome books you can also take part in lots of fun challenges too, like a wordsearch, ‘guess the cover’ and bingo!
Due to my recent reading slump (thank you YALC – post coming soon!) I don’t plan on following any of the challenges as I don’t want to restrict myself too much. However some of the books do check a few things off the bingo board.

Here There Are Monsters by Amelinda Bérubé
Bingo: Finish One “New to You Author” / Finish One ARC
I picked this up while at YALC, after a publisher likened it to Stranger Things – I was sold! The blurb also compares it to The Blair Witch Project so I’m excited for a spooky read.
Wilder Girls by Rory Power
Bingo: Finish One “New to You Author”
Wow I have wanted to read this for the longest time! It isn’t actually released in the UK until next year (I think?) but after I luckily and gratefully managed to trade I finally have my hands on it. I’ve heard nothing but great things so I think I may pick this up first.
Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan
Bingo: Finish One Sequel / Finish One “Author I’ve Read Before” / Finish One Fantasy
I raced through Girls of Paper and Fire in less than a week, and actually finished reading it on the train to London for YALC. I loved it so much and knew I just had to try my best to get hold of the sequel at the convention. (Not so) spoiler: I got it! I can’t wait to be back in this world and see where Lei and Wren’s journey takes them.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
Bingo: Finish One ARC that Has Dragons/Magic/Elves/Fairies / Finish One Fantasy / Finish One Debut Authors ARC
So I hardly ever win raffles, but last weekend the YALC gods were smiling down at me and I won a copy of this beautiful book! A magical portal fantasy story about enchanted books in an old mansion in the 1900s? Yes please.
In terms of the bingo, like I said, lots of them crossover. I also think there will be more that I will complete, such as “start and finish two ARCs between 1st-31st August”. Similarly, they’re all 2019 releases which ticks another off the list, and two of them don’t have a picture of a girl on the front which is another challenge.
I’m looking at an ARC a week which I think is pretty doable, right? I’m going to try my best but as I said before, I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself right now. Earlier this year I took part in Kate’s Easter Readathon and I didn’t do as well as I hoped but fingers crossed I’m more successful this time!
There we have it, my ARC August TBR! Who else is taking part in the readathon and what are you reading?

Wilder Girls looks fantastic! I should probably read some of my arcs too 😅
I’m honestly so exited to read it!
Excited*** 🤦🏻♀️
I cannot wait to read Wilder Girls! I don’t have an ARC August TBR but a lot of my months TBR are ARCs!
I almost got Here There Are Monsters at YALC and I am so gutted I didn’t. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Wilder Girls! I am only planning on reading one ARC this month, The Tenth Girl.
These all look very promicing and I hope you’ll like them all!
Good luck with your reading challenge!
I’m doing NEWTS Magical Readathon in August as I don’t have enough review copies for ARC August to be a challenge haha.
