A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
For this one I have to go with Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand. Lauren has been championing this once since release and has been trying to get me to read it for the longest time.
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
Wow this is hard (because there are so many). I’m going to go with The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. [edit – since writing this I’m two books into the series!]
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I’m choosing A Torch Against the Night for this one. I loved An Ember in the Ashes, started the second and then just gave up for some reason. I actually wrote about how I want to ‘re-read’ the series here.
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
I like the sound of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley but classics aren’t really my thing so I can’t guarantee I’ll ever actually read them.
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
Nevernight, for sure! This series receives so much high praise and I’m not yet able to join in. I definitely plan on reading it this year though.
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
I’d have to say Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. I’ve seen all the films and started reading the books ten years ago or so but just struggled to get into them. Might be time for another go?
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
I’m always seeing various editions of Red Rising and the rest of the series on Instagram and although I’ve been meaning to do so I’ve never read it! I do own the first book and I started the audiobook but I didn’t get very far.
And there we have the I Should Have Read That book tag! I’m planning on posting more content like this in future, what do you think? Do you enjoy reading book tags? I tag:
Lauren, Bec and Angharad, Beth and Moon and whoever else would like to tale part (sorry I know this isn’t 10)!
Great post Amy! I have exactly the same replies aha, it seems that we need to get our reading jig on!
Oh can I do this tag? Nevernight is definitely one everyone else seems to have read 🙈
I love reading book tags but I don’t do many – I should do more too! Lovely blog and I’m now following.
I love this book tag! There are so many books I should have read!
Excellent tag and answers!
I’d definitely recommend giving Jane Eyre a go – I usually can’t stand classic (looking at you, Austen) but I read Jane Eyre last year and utterly adored it.

I have been seeing Red Rising on my instagram since the beginning and I still haven’t picked it up! It was the first book I put on my Goodreads TBR
Ah please give The Hobbit and LOTR another go, they’re so good! The audiobooks are brilliant too 🙂
amy amy amy … am i gonna have to THROW sawkill girls at you?
