Hello everyone, today I’m sharing the Reading Habits Book Tag! I love tag posts and I definitely don’t do them enough. I first saw this on Lois’ blog and it was created by TheBookJazz. Although I haven’t been tagged, I really wanted to do it, so here we go!

My Answers
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
If I’m reading at home it’s usually either on the sofa in the living room or in bed. We do have a room that’s kind of like a library/gaming room, with my bookcases and my boyfriend’s Xbox in, but I haven’t bought a reading chair for in there yet!
Bookmark, dog-earring or random piece of paper?
I either use a bookmark or keep track of the number of pages on Goodreads. Whatever the method, I definitely don’t dog-ear.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter / a certain amount of pages?
In an ideal world I like to read in batches of 50 or 100 pages, depending on the length of the book. I don’t know why, it’s always just a little goal! But if I know I’m not in for a long reading session, I’ll usually stop at the end of a chapter.
Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
It’s not something I make a conscious choice to do, but I more often than not have a drink nearby.
Music or TV whilst reading?
Usually I’m downstairs when reading so I’ll probably have the television on quietly for some background noise, though I can be easily distracted so it has to be something I don’t actually want to watch!
One book at a time or several at once?
90% of the time I’m “properly” reading, and by that I mean actively reading and not just sat on my currently read shelf on Goodreads for 9 months, only one book at a time. But I have occasionally had a couple on the go. I do prefer one at a time though.
Reading at home or everywhere?
I do most of my reading at home but sometimes (when I was in the office) would read at my desk on my lunch break. While I can’t read in the car because of travel sickness, I’ve found that I’m usually okay on a train. If I can block background noise out, I can read more or less anywhere though!
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I always read silently in my head, unless I’m reading something out to someone.
Do you read ahead of even skip pages?
I have SUCH a bad habit of letting my eyes wander down a page, especially if we’re at a scene I’m really anticipating. I try my best not to do it though. I definitely don’t skip pages though.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
This kind of depends on the book for me, I guess. If it’s like a super special edition I try my best to keep the book in pristine condition for displaying on my shelves. I’m a pretty careful reader though anyway so even if I’m not actively trying to keep it like new, I never really damage them. I do also really love that cracked spines show how many times a book has been read and how much it is loved, so some of my faves definitely don’t have perfect spines.
Do you write in your books?
It’s not something I really do, but I have started to underline or make notes on a couple of things in my favourite books as I tab and annotate during a re-read. I’m also taking part in a travelling book project with some pals and the whole point is to write your comments on the page so I’m excited!
