Hi pals, welcome back to my ebook unhaul series! In the spirit of being more organised with my reading this year, I’ve decided to regularly look through my Kindle library and decide what I think I’m actually going to read. Today I’m sharing the second instalment; if you’re interested in seeing what I unhauled last month you can check out the last post here.
The rules are simple:
π For now, I am looking at unread books only
π From oldest to newest, work through ten books at a time
π Look at the blurb and some reviews
πDecide whether I want to keep it and read it, or remove the download from my library
Okay so, time to do some digging and start my ebook unhaul.

I read Me Before You years ago now, and when the sequel was released I was super interested in picking it up. Six years later, I still haven’t read it and I don’t think it’s something I would necessarily enjoy now. I seem to remember starting this book but for some reason stopped reading, so maybe that says it all? Verdict: Remove download β

So if anybody could maybe tell me what this is about, that would be helpful? Clearly I have no recollection of wanting to read this, so I’m assuming it was a cheap ebook that I likely found when browsing for college romances. I do still love this genre, but after reading the synopsis and some of the reviews it sounds very much like a product of its time and not a book I have any interest in reading now. And the cover… Verdict: Remove download β

Raise Your Vibrations: 111 Practices to Increase Your Spiritual Connection by Kyle Gray*
I actually own a physically copy of this too, and remember getting hold of the ebook as a way to easily access the daily practices. Let’s not talk about the fact that I haven’t actually made it through all 111 practices, I do definitely want to! Verdict: Keep β

A Yorkshire Christmas by Kate Hewitt
If I’d noticed this in my Kindle library a few months back I might have picked it up as an easy kind of read. A contemporary romance about a woman who flees New York City to spend Christmas at her grandmother’s cottage in Yorkshire, and has a “meet cute moment” with a local farmer, this sounds like the perfect cheesy festive romcom. Sadly, it’s not enticing me at the moment. Verdict: Remove download β

To Catch a Texas Cowboy by Julie Benson*
While I’m definitely not averse to reading cowboy romances, I’ve done some reading up on this on Goodreads and I’m not sure I’m particularly interested in this one anymore. Also all the reviews call this a “fade to black” romance and if you know me, you know I often like my reads a little spicier than that. Verdict: Remove download β

This is the sixth book in a series that I honestly can’t really remember reading, so I think it kind of negates the point of me picking this up now. Ella Fox has a lot of good reviews on Goodreads, albeit they are quite old, so I probably would have enjoyed this had I read it when I actually bought it. Verdict: Remove download β

Across the Universe by Beth Revis*
I remember back in the day seeing this book on my social feeds a lot, so of course I gave into the hype and bought it. Well it seems I then fell for more hypes, bought more books and this just landed at the back of the pile. After checking out reviews, I saw that quite a few mentioned issues with this book which reinforces that I won’t be picking this up now. Verdict: Remove download β

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen*
I’m kind of on the fence about this one. I feel like back when this was published I probably would have loved it, and I’m wondering whether it’s just not my kind of read anymore. It sure sounds like something I would enjoy, a high fantasy dystopian kind of story about an exiled Princess returning to the throne, but some reviews suggest it feels dated and includes some of the least liked tropes such as “not like other girls”. This is a maybe I think! Verdict: Keep and maybe read later? β

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge*
I picked this up during my Beauty and the Beast retellings phase (which, let’s be honest, hasn’t really ended) but never properly picked it up. Reviews seem really mixed but a lot of them are dated which makes me a little hesitant. I think I maybe missed the boat with this one. Verdict: Remove download β

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige*
I literally could not remember what this book was supposed to be about before I read up on it again, and there are a lot of negative reviews. From what I can remember a lot of people described this as a Snow White retelling but looks like it isn’t that at all. Verdict: Remove download β

π RESULT: Keeping two reads out of ten
So I got the same result as my last ebook haul. It’s really interesting to see how my reading tastes have changed over the years, and while I’m a little sad to say goodbye to books I think that at one time I might have enjoyed, I’m also super glad to have reduced my TBR a little more.
How do you keep track of your digital library?

wow that’s a great result! My digital library is pretty well under control (helped a bit by the fact I recently got a new kindle, and helped a lot by my avoidance of Amazon leading to me buying uncontrollable amounts of physical books from other places…) but I definitely need to do this with my physical TBR
I don’t keep track π€£π€£
I loved Queen of the Tearling!
I don’t keep track of my digital library at all haha
This is such a good idea! π My kindle app is starting to get a little crowded so this would be great to start tidying it up a bit π
Good work! I definitely agree with stealing snow, I hated it so much.
How are you sorting through to look at what to delete out of interest? I have so much on my kindle it’s a little intimidating
Omg I have so many of these that I don’t think I’ll read either!
This is such a great idea. I have no idea what is on my Kindle and really need to tidy it up.
I wish I had the strength to do this lol the good thing about ebooks is that they stay in your cloud so you can go back to them if you want!
