Okay, so I’m super excited to post my February TBR today.
Why, I hear you ask? Well, because it’s the month that my most anticipated read of 2021 is released and it’s time for F/F February! F/F Feb is the annual readathon hosted by Imi and Ellie at Beyond a Bookshelf where they encourage all to read sapphic books, or books featuring sapphic relationships. There are tons of prompts, recommendations and even an amazing masterlist over on their blog.
I’ve got eight books on my TBR for this month, and considering the fact that I managed to read that number last month, I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to manage this too! Though it is the shortest month…
Let’s dig into my February TBR!

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas*
I’m continuing with my re-read of the series this year, and this will be the third time I’ve read this book. I first read this in one sitting the day it was released and. I legit remember crying myself to sleep because I’m so god damn dramatic, but ACOWAR features some of my favourite scenes from the series so far so I’m excited to revisit it and annotate!

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas*
I know a lot of people have mixed opinions about this book, but I feel like it’s because they went in expecting something that it was never marketed as? ACOFAS is a novella which bridges the gap between ACOWAR and the next series, wrapping up Feysand’s arc and setting up the new conflict. I saw complaints about the length of this and that there wasn’t a lot of action but… that’s because it was never the intention of the book or Sarah. Personally I loved this and you can check out my fangirling post here!

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas*
Hands up who guessed that this was my most anticipated read of the year? I am so excited to be back in this world, reading about Cassian and Nesta and seeing how SJM is going to propel the story forwards as an adult fantasy. I’ve booked the day off work to read this so fingers crossed it arrives in time, and I’m also planning to vlog while I devour it. Let me know if you’d be interested in watching that!

A Dark and Hollow Star by Ashley Shuttleworth*
F/F Feb prompts: Debut author / SFF / Trope I love
This was also on my anticipated reads list and I’m super excited to dive into my ARC in February! Described as The Cruel Prince meets City of Bones, in A Dark and Hollow Star a queer cast of characters must come together to track down the mysterious killer behind a series of murders. Fae, Faerie courts and found family. Yes please!

Mina and the Undead by Amy McCaw*
F/F Feb prompts: Debut author
In this vampire novel set in the 90s from a UKYA author, we follow 17 year old horror enthusiast Mina, who goes to visit her sister in New Orleans. After landing the job of her dreams at a horror movie mansion she discovers the body of a woman with puncture wounds in her neck, with all clues pointing to her sister! I was planning to read this last week but recently I saw a review that said this book features a lesbian character so it definitely ties in with F/F Feb. I also very luckily have an ARC of this so I’m excited.

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers*
F/F Feb prompts: Science fiction fantasy / Book recommended to me
As Imi practically strong-armed me into buying this at YALC 2019, and due to the fact it’s on my list of books I really need to read this year, it’s the perfect choice for this readathon! So I kind of don’t really know what this book is about, but everyone seems to love this series so I’ve got super high hopes.

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire*
F/F Feb prompts: Science fiction fantasy / Own voices
Every Heart a Doorway was one of my top reads of 2020 and I’ve been meaning to pick up the rest of the series, so as this features a sapphic love interest this month sounds like a great time to actually do it! I started the audiobook on Scribd and am waiting for my physical copy to arrive so that I can finish it in February.
There we have all of the books on my February TBR! I’m so excited for another great reading month and to take part in the fab F/F February readathon. And ACOSF?! *Screeeeams*.
What are you planning to read this month?

I need to read the rest of Seanan McGuire – I really enjoy Every Heart a Doorway when I read it a few years ago. I don’t tend to plan my reads cause I never stick to it.
