Hey friends, today I’m here to share with you my TBR for the Easter Readathon 2021!
This will be the fourth year I take part in this readathon, which is hosted by my lovely pal Kate. It’s something I look forward to every year, and each of my attempts has been pretty successful if I do say so myself.

Kate has created some prompts for us, will be hosting liveshows on her YouTube channel and also has a cool giveaway for those who take part. Make sure to check out her announcement post here for all the info, because I’m about to dive into my picks for this bank holiday weekend.
Here are the books I hope to read during the Easter Readathon 2021!
Kate mentions that the prompts she has created are totally optional, but I do like them to use them as inspiration, and they also help me to look at my unread books with a bit more strategy which should hopefully help me reduce it (haha what a joke).

The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta
Prompts: A new beginning / A pastel cover
This has been on my TBR for far too long and I’m super excited to finally pick it up. This is the story of a young boy coming to terms with his identity as a mixed-race gay teen who finds and embraces himself as a drag artist while at university. I think this is the embodiment of the new beginning prompt and it has such great reviews so I can’t wait to get stuck in.

Love is a Revolution by Renée Watson
Prompts: A book that gives you spring vibes / A pastel cover
Just look at this cover and tell me it isn’t the PERFECT book for Spring? The flowers, the colours, everything. Love is a Revolution was on my list of anticipated reads of 2021 so I’ve got super high hopes. With a diverse cast of characters, own voices representation and plus size representation, it’s a story of finding love not just with others but with yourself too.

The Insecure Girl’s Handbook by Olivia Purvis
Prompts: A new beginning / A pastel cover / A book under 250 pages
I remember seeing this making the rounds on social media last year but for some reason I didn’t really pay it much mind, but last week I came across it again and it just seemed to really resonate with me. I’ve always been a lover of self development books but they’ve taken kind of a backseat in the last few months, but this sounds right up my street and I’m hoping it helps me on my journey to self love!

Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race
Prompts: A book under 250 pages
Here’s another book I definitely should have picked up earlier. I’m constantly working to diversify my reading and understand my own privilege, and while it’s no ones responsibility to teach me this and it’s something my own research should provide, I am hoping to read this over the coming days.

There we have my TBR for the Easter Readathon 2021, and I think I’ve got some really great reads lined up in my opinion! There’s just something about this bank holiday weekend which always makes me feel refreshed and energised, and sinking my teeth into a good book is the perfect way to spend my time.
Are you taking part in the Easter Readathon 2021? I’d love to know what you’re planning to read!

looks like a good list, I hope you’re enjoying them!
