Nope, I can't quite believe I'm posting this either. A couple of weeks ago I came out of work to a barrage of notifications from Twitter, Instagram and messages from friends. My first thought was "oh my god what's happened", but I never suspected this! Vote for me in the Blogosphere Awards 2021! I've followed Blogosphere for years now, have even been featured in their magazine, but I've always been excited by their prestigious awards and super happy for all those involved. Never did I expect that I'd be one of the nominees! Creating amyjanealice in 2013 is one of the best ... Read the Post...
July TBR | 2021
Hey friends, today I'm here to share with you my July TBR! After managing to read eighteen books last month (yep I'm gonna mention that again 😏) I'm feeling like I'm on a reading high so I've put together a TBR of 7 books. Yes that's less than half of what I read last month, but I don't always exclusively stick to what I plan so I'll likely end up reading some ebooks on top of these! Here are the books on my July TBR! A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll As I'm writing this I'm actually halfway through the book already and I'm loving it; it totally deserves its title as an award ... Read the Post...
June Wrap Up | 2021
Hello everyone and welcome to my June wrap up! So before I started putting together this post I had no idea how many books I'd actually read in June, but after checking it appears that I got through eighteen. EIGHTEEN?! Wow I am so happy with that, I think this is my best month yet, and this brings my total to 59 books this year so far. This month I started the new job I mentioned in my last wrap up so I did most of my reading in the beginning of June (because I've been falling asleep on the sofa around 7pm lately!) but it's been a great few weeks and I'm super chuffed with some of the ... June TBR | 2021 | Pride Month
Hey friends, today I'm here to share with you my June TBR for 2021! So I know this is a little late, I usually like to get this up at the start of the month, but better late than never right? June is Pride month, marking the anniversary of the uprising that took place at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, after it was raided by the police and LGBTQIA+ people fought back against the long standing police brutality. Stonewall say that "this anniversary is a reminder of the power of standing together in defiance of those who seek to divide us." While we should be reading diversely all ... Read the Post...
May Wrap Up | 2021
Hello everyone and welcome to my May wrap up! Last month I managed to read 13 books and although I only read 7 this month I'm still super happy with that! I finally started The Dark Artifices, which I'd been meaning to pick up ever since I finished The Infernal Devices last year, and picked up a romance book that's way outside of my usual tastes. I also got some really exciting news this month - I've got a new job! I'm finally going to be fulfilling the lifelong dream of working with books, for a company who work with schools and teachers to get children's books into classrooms and ... Read the Post...
