On Friday I came home to a very exciting parcel: my first ever Wildest Dreams Book Box! A few months back, I was very luckily (and gratefully) chosen to be a rep for Wildest Dreams and so Zoe, the lovely creator of the box, very kindly sent this out to me. I was obviously beyond happy when I was chosen to rep for this new subscription box, especially as I had been planning on buying the boxes myself. So, what exactly is the Wildest Dreams Book Box? It's a monthly YA subscription box packed with a new YA release, tea and other goodies relating to a particular theme for less than £20! For ... Read the Post...
Review: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black was one of my most anticipated reads of 2018 so I couldn't wait for the New Year to roll around and for this to be posted through my letter box (I actually had to get this re-delivered because it wouldn't fit the first time but that doesn't sound as good). Anyway, every since I read A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas in 2016, which is now my favourite series, I have been in love with all things Fae and Faery. Dubbed "The Faerie Queen", I just knew I would love Black's latest release. Read on for my spoiler free review! From the cover: Jude was ... Read the Post...
Review: Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu with Q&A!
In late 2017 I received a copy of Batman: Nightwalker* by Marie Lu (thank you Penguin, especially Sarah!) and I'm so grateful because this was definitely an anticipated release of mine! I was majorly excited when I saw the parcel sat in my porch and ripped it open with more enthusiasm than was probably necessary. With my dad being a huge comic book fan I’ve grown up with superheroes, and Batman has always been a favourite of mine and my dad's. We even met the original Batman Adam West when I was a baby! So, I knew I would love this book and I couldn't wait to get stuck in, especially as I fell ... Read the Post...
The Costa Book Awards 2017 Category Winners
Since December I've been working with Costa Coffee on their annual Costa Book Awards* by reviewing the four books shortlisted in the Children’s category. I've had a lot of fun getting stuck into a genre and kind of book that I don't usually pick up, so I'm super grateful to the Costa team for this opportunity. This is part of a series of posts sponsored by the Costa Book Awards but all opinions and thoughts are my own. There are five categories in the Awards celebrating authors living in the UK and Ireland (First Novel, Novel, Children’s Book, Biography and Poetry) and in the ... Read the Post...
My Favourite Books of 2017!
Time for the biggest cliche of all... "I can't believe how quickly this year has gone, it's just flown by!" But genuinely, these past 12 months have passed by so fast and one of the best things about it is the number of amazing books that I've read this year. Honestly, it's probably been one of my best reading years so far; I've found some new favourite authors, reignited my love for some genres I hadn't picked up in a while, forged a whole new love for genres I wouldn't usually choose to read and as always, I've been provided with endless entertainment through the written word. So as you can ... Read the Post...
