My relationship with Benefit mascaras hasn’t been too great. They’re Real is one of the best selling mascaras there is, there’s no argument about it. Though for some reason, I didn’t love it. I know, I know, I can hear you all gasping and tutting in disbelief, but I just didn’t find it worked too great on me. My lashes are pretty straight and short sadly enough, so it takes a miracle mascara to keep a curl in them, and They’re Real wasn’t the one.
Enter Roller Lash, Benefit’s latest release. As I’m sure you all know, Elle offered a mini Roller Lash in their last issue, and so of course I got my hands on it. Not sure that I wanted to pay the £19.50 price tag for a mascara I was sure I wouldn’t like, I decided to get my hands on a sample first. Roller Lash is based around hair rollers, which I think is a really cute concept, from the lid to the spoolie.
The “hook ‘n’ roll” curved brush grips onto, lengthens and seperates the lashes which is perfect for those of us with less than average lashes. I’ve always preferred plastic style brushes over fibre brushes, and this is no exception. I still find that I need my lash curler just to get that extra bit of volume, but the mascara definitely adds length and exceptional colour. At the moment I’m loving my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, so I’m not sure that I’ll buy the full size Roller Lash mascara just yet.
Roller Lash is released nationwide on the 26th of February, and I think it’s going to be a strong contender for the best selling mascara against They’re Real!
